Brief History:
The Jones lineage in the United States that this page chronicles starts with Solomon Jones then his son Samuel Jones in the 18th Century and then continues through his son Elias Jones, his son George Washington Irving (GWI) Jones, his son Pha Jones, his son Thomas Jones, to me, Doug Jones. With my children there have been at least seven generations of this Jones family line in the U.S. Recent family documents given to me have established that Solomon Jones was the father of Samuel Jones and four other brothers, William, Isaac, Zachariah, and Benjamin. They were in Knoxville Tennessee at the beginning of the 19th Century and moved to Ohio in 1814.
