Brief History:
The Jackson and Jones Families are linked through the marriage of Andrew M. Jackson to Rachel Kitt Jones (daughter of Dr. Elias Jones) in 1881. After either her apparent death, Andrew will marry Rachel's younger sister Elida Samantha Jones in 1888. They eventually settle in Indianapolis, Indiana and have four children, Frank P., Paul J., Thurman, and Alma M. Andrew is listed as a lumber merchant in the 1910 census and the 1920 census shows Elida as a widow. Little else is know of this line of the family. GWI Jones' diaries note correspondence between himself and his sister and she apparently visited Seattle and the Jones family at least twice. Research is continuing to proved that the Andrew M. Jackson who married Rachel Jones is the same Andrew M. Jackson that later married her younger sister Elida. Both are recorded in the Noble County records and but further investigation is required.
